This year, Raccoon Creek requires all its group camp organizations to implement a COVID policy, which is listed below the cut:

  1. Mandatory: Proof of Completed Vaccination
To attend any Fort Weyr event in person, members/visitors must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before the convention with a course of FDA approved vaccine, and preferably also with a booster shot.
This means each member must have received all required COVID vaccination doses no later than 14 days prior to the day of the event to allow them to reach full efficacy before arrival.
Each such person must present proof of vaccination, and attendees over the age of 18 must show a photo identification matching the name shown on the proof of vaccination. There are no exceptions.
  2. Mandatory: Masks must be worn.
COVID-19 vaccines are an important tool to help stop the pandemic, but they don’t mean we can stop taking all precautionary measures. Properly worn masks covering nose and mouth are required for all Fort Fest members in all group spaces, except when actively eating or drinking. Fort Weyr will provide a mask for any member who does not have one.
  3. Designated Health Monitor
Fort Weyr will designate one person to be the centralized health monitor for the event, and delegate the task of ensuring compliance with points One and Two above. This person will also have rapid-tests available for anyone who might become ill during the course of the event and will communicate to event leaders and the Park staff if anyone tests positive during the event.
  4. Quarantine Cabin
Fort Weyr will designate one cabin to be used as a quarantine unit in the case that any COVID infection is identified. The cabin will have wash facilities attached.
  5. Keeping shared space safe
The large cabin will be cleared of members periodically, and box fans run to fully circulate the air inside, in order to create a safer gathering space for all members of Fort Weyr. Fort Weyr will check with Raccoon Creek State Park about bringing outdoor sunshades/pavilions to the campground for additional safer gathering space.
